Four KidShape Programs -- Financial detailsNew Solutions from KidShapeFour Programs – one for every need!“Can you help me to lose weight to look like my friends? Most people make fun of me and call me fat or fatty or sing mean songs to me and it hurts so bad. So please, KidShape, help me.” (E-mail received by KidShape) To meet more needs, we have created three programs in addition to the original KidShape – one for young children, one for teens, and a less intensive KidShape program. KidShapeA 9-week program, 2-1/4 hours per week, for overweight and obese children ages 6 to 14 and their families. Available in English and Spanish.Since 1987 the KidShape program has graduated more than 12,000 kids and their families. 87% of those have lost weight and 80% of those who lost weight have kept it off for at least two years. KidShape empowers families to eat healthy, move more, and feel good.To launch a Kidshape program requires • a Registered Dietitian • a Site Coordinator (may be the same person as the RD) • a Mental Health Professional • a Physical Activity Instructor Cost • Annual licensing fee of $1,000 per site • One-time training cost of $1,500 • One-time materials charge of $1,000 per site • $80 per enrolled family for materials • Cost of approximately 132 hours of instructor time The KidShape ChallengeA 6-week program, 1-1/2 hours per week, for overweight and obese children ages 6 to 14 and their families.Recognizing the need for a less intensive program that is effective building healthy families, we created The KidShape Challenge, which is less costly to operate because it has less class time. If a group of instructors wants to be trained in two programs at the same time, it lengthens the total instruction time to two days and the cost to $2,000. And if you want to run two different programs at one site, the additional classroom materials for the second program is $300.For more information, contact
